ECAL Master in Digital Experience Design
Education is one of the core missions of the EPFL+ECAL Lab. Bringing our knowledge in design, digital innovation and human sciences, we have joined forces with ECAL to set up the new Master in Digital Experience Design (DXD). Starting in September 2025, this ambitious programme responds to a growing demand for professionals with high-level and holistic competencies in the design of digital experiences.
Led by ECAL, this two-year course is aimed at students with a Bachelor’s degree in digital design, computer science or communication systems, who wish to specialise in the design of digital experiences and interfaces that combine an understanding of context, user needs and contemporary systems.
Students will work on practical projects that integrate cutting-edge tools and techniques to design interactive interfaces and complete digital experiences. The programme is also tailored to meet the requirements of industries where digital technology plays a key role by preparing graduates to work in a variety of professional environments.
Using our expertise at the crossroads of design, technology and human sciences, the EPFL+ECAL Lab will bring a range of advanced courses and design briefs that focus on digital innovation, creative development and user research.
The Master DXD fosters a project-oriented approach with a strong professional dimension. It will also provide a solid basis for an application to our postgraduate programme in Design Research for Digital Innovation, combined with a position as a research assistant at the EPFL+ECAL Lab.
